Amitabh Bachchan (Big B) was born on October 11th, 1942, in Allahabad. His mother, Teji belonged to Sikh religion and father, Harivansh was a poet of Hindi language. His real name was Inquilaab, which Harivansh changed to Amitabh, when his friend suggested him. His father died in the year 2003 and in 2007, his mother also passed away.
He completed his schooling from Boy’s High School and later, he became the part of Delhi University and pursued the degree of Science. He worked as freight broker, before coming to acting field.
In the year 1969, he portrayed the role of Anwar Ali in the silver screen project, Saat Hindustani. Following to his initial movie project, he played the roles of Kumar Sen, Bhaskar and Mohan in the projects, Parwana, Anand and Sanjog, which are released in the year 1971.
Then the year 1972 began, Amitabh portrayed the characters of Birju in Bansi Birju, Manmohan in Ek Nazar, Ram in Pyar ki Kahani, Taylor in Garam Masala, Ravi in Bombay to Goa, Jai in Raaste Kaa Patthar and Chhotu in Reshma and Shera.
In late 1970s, Amitabh portrayed the characters such as Vijay in Deewar, Badal in Zameer, Amit in Do Anjaane, Vijay in Hera Pheri, Alok in Alaap, Vijay in Don and Amit in Suhaag. He also played the double role in the silver screen project, Toofan, which was released in the year 1989 and he also portrayed the character of father and son in the movie, Sooryavansham, in the year 1999.
Some of his latest movie projects are, Bhoothnath, God Tussi Great Ho, Paa, Teen Patti, Housefull 2 and The Great Gatsby.
