Felix Ungar has quite recently said a final farewell to his significant other. Melancholy, he goes to murder himself yet is spared by his companion Oscar Madison. With no place else to go, Felix is asked by Oscar to move in with him, at any rate for some time. The main issue is that Felix is slick, clean, and hypochondriac, while Oscar is sloppy and easygoing.
